There is enough social psychology​ research to suggest that most of the time people are more efficient alone than in a group, although some tasks take more than one person. Common problem with a lot of meds, including antidepressants and antipsychotics. I knew someone who didn’t want to take their meds because it made them fat, and that was to counteract delusions and paranoia from schizophrenia. It’s been decades, so I think the meds are better but the point is, yeah, lots of people have to pick and even if the side effects are less bad, you’re actively having to choose to cause that to yourself.
