  • I bought it cheap one sale in the last…oh five years ago or so (time is funny at this age) but I definitely had that experience. Sometime I want to get really into it to check I out but know I’ll need to go invest in some training time to understand the mechanics to make the time seems relevant.

It reminds me of Gothic 1 really, it was brutal but a fun RPG, not as open as this one was(recall it being relatively small to even GTA 3 standards) but open for its era. Think I had to try killing a stupid mob for ages in that one, actually didn’t get fa but it was done so well at the time.

  • My girlfriend and I share lists on ours, she can add things and I can see them for when I go to the store. In theory cause she usually has to tell me.about it first so I remember to look at it. Makes Xmas food shopping much simpler. I suppose there is a text sharing one but so far ‘ourgroceries’ ( think that’s right) only bugs me to buy the full app when I use it, but otherwise no biggie. Plus you can disable notifications from apps anyways, least I thought so, cause I probably had one from there and said nope, don’t care. Maybe it tells you when someone else put something there if they are on, oh well if I’m missing them too cause we talk still heh.

  • Only two? I haven’t kept up, I assumed it’s much more than that. Or is the new one much worse and hence the prominent to go with Epstein? Or maybe it’s just going with prosecuted ones? Really he’s just wallowing in his usual filth anyways. But hey the Americans voted for him to ‘lead’…again, so shows what the values of the voters.

Yes I know voting sucks in the US (from long times to the electoral collage numbers) but they all still made him president again.

  • Yes I always think of that Simpsons line, this is the worse day so far. It doesn’t help any anxiety about the geopolitical situation even backdropped by an amusing sitcom. I do hope people learn better, but maybe we’ll see the way of nuking ourselves and wonder what happened while still being intolerant (as a whole, I know many individuals are cool but those are never in position of power it seems).

I limit my political stories these days after Trump’s first term I can’t handle the same input, not American but that doesn’t matter to the world’s outcome.

  • Recently bought a bunch of courses on music theory…why? Cause I bought cubase and figured I needed to understand how to make things sound good together. Plus I’ve always loved music and it seemed like a mystery in my knowledge. Now spent more time learning music theory than in the program. It’s a fun process. Just hope the fun doesn’t run out…though been awhile in the making so to say, so maybe ‘this’ one will stay. heh.

  • Damnit I just got a 9800x3d, guess I’ll be good knowing I can upgrade to whatever gpu comes out that’s in the sweet spot for awhile. I do have a 3070 so not like I’m slumming it, but was really hoping that the 50xx series would be worth it. Guess it’s time to read up on ray tracing and dlss type features since I haven’t done that homework in many years now. Always seemed like Nvidia was better supported but maybe not the big difference it it appears to be. I have gone back and forth over the years anyways.

That’s why I started figuring out beginner courses / tutorials to figure out if I could grasp the basics on something. Though I’m a bit older, so maybe it comes down to being old and not wanting to waste as much time. Least if I don’t do good, I learned something. Did some blender one the other year to figure out some 3d modeling, was fun, then got distracted and haven’t touched it since. Was neat to understand the graphics side of things though.

  • I used to quite enjoy the radio stations in Surviving Mars well a couple of them, apparently spent 145 hours in the game total. There may have been a few times it accidentally ran overnight from not closing but for what it was, it was fairly fun. Plus getting to turn Mars green always felt rewarding. I always played with chill locations though, never went for the hard runs, sometimes it’s fun to play like humanity succeeds.

We’re only talking about 80MB though, at work just the core Grape City Active Reports dlls are 32MB that’s not even including the dependencies (everything seems to use extra system. Dlls on windows). A simple aspx web forms project I’m looking at with maybe 1MB images is still 120MB, granted it’s not optimized or anything and 32MB is from Active Reports

  • Sawmills I knew about rotated areas they’d cut from and did tree planting in the summers in the areas logged to be sustainable. Of course in Canada there’s not much shortage of trees to cut down anyways but I thought that was the usual way in US and Canada. I don’t mean we should be cutting down 1/20th (I’m not sure how many years the rotations were offhand) of the trees each year or anything though.
