It’s called trauma.
People are terrified of empathy. Empathy is the capacity (or even the obligation) to experience the suffering of others. Suffering HURTS. Empathy HURTS. People will do anything to avoid thinking about the victim on their plate.
what a cowardly thing to say. you could have just walked away, but your fragile ego wasn’t done humiliating you.
Right? Like there can be no objective criticism of literature or something.
Except that IS what passes as a joke in BBT. Just references to things without any humour except a laugh track.
Turning hateful terms back on the people who originated them doesn’t protect innocent bystanders from that hate. Please stop.
Soybeans are cattle in plant form.
A river floods every year. If someone builds a house next to it and the river takes it, is the river evil, or is the person suffering the consequences of their own ignorance? The consequences of capitalism are predictable and inevitable. The behaviour of a dollar is almost as predictable as that of an electron. Why do people pretend like we don’t know what is going to happen?
The Dungeon already sort of gave up on the original design. Philip Price wrote The City and the extension mechanism that things were supposed to plug into, but the new developers who finished The Dungeon didn’t use any of it. “Middle class” IS working class. It’s a false distinction that only serves to undermine our only tool against the ruling class, class solidarity. (I think we’re kind of saying the same thing.)
“Middle class” contrasts with “upper class” and “lower class”, not with “ruling class” and “working class”; it’s the wrong perspective.
The lack of self-awareness in this comment is depressing

I hate how they stole the word “vape” from us.
