But the wording implies that the legality of this person’s situation matters for the rest of the sentence, either meaning that being illegal would justify deportation, or not being able to come back after being arrested without reason.

Why say legally if it changes nothing, then?
I like how this still implies that it’s only wrong because he had a legal situation.
After all illegal immigrants are not really human, right?
Can it be worse than saying that you can rape a woman into becoming straight and she’ll like it? I highly doubt it.
The idea of punishment is to prevent further misbehaviours, not to throw shit back at the kids. The goal is to teach the proper behaviour.
But hell is supposed to be eternal, and as such there is no evolving from it, making it not a punishment but a torture.
Now if you believe in torturing kids who misbehave just for the sake of making them suffer, that’s something else.
It’s like saying that if employees are paid and treated like shit, they should still work hard because the opposite would be immoral.
That’s bullshit, if AIs are crap because they train on unwilling people, it’s the company’s fault, not the people who are coerced into working for free.
Ah yes, the famous discrimination against men.
Also men are actually expected and trained by society to be pigs so it’s sliiightly different.
Wow that’s a horribly shitty argument.
The same joke could have been made with anything else. A boss, a friend, who cares.
And yeah, the artistic freedom is what people also use to defend Ricky Gervais when he spends 10 minutes saying that kids who get raped enjoy it, that’s a very bad sign when you end up having to resort to that argument to defend a joke.
Ok boomer
Oh dear.
People still make those pathetic “wife bad” jokes?
That’s bullshit. A guy saying “I’m not a nazi, I just have nazi friends” is never going to be punishable by law, but if you decide to be friends with him or defend him then I’m sorry but you’re a nazi too.
Siding with pieces of shit just because there is no material evidence of their crimes is demented.
Oh and if one of your parents or siblings or kids or friends comes to you saying that they’ve been raped, you’re going to tell them “if you don’t have proof shut up”?
Ah yes, the famous people who want to be humiliated publicly, accused of false allegations, and for most of the time absolutely no result.
People who side with potential rapists (yes, that’s what you do because you are assuming that it’s likely that the victims are lying) are always a delight.
Oh and you can’t punish someone legally for being only a potential rapist. Cutting off someone off your company or friend circle or whatever because they are likely a rapist is completely fine, legal methods were never meant to be applied to individuals.
What scenario exactly? The deaths and health issues caused by each? Because else, there is really no point. You’re just grasping for anything you can find to defend alcohol if all you can find is"there are some vitamins in some alcoholic drinks", especially considering that it is also the case for a lot of sweet drinks, even sodas.
Alcohol is extremely unhealthy, causes dangerous behaviours, deaths, cancers and so on, is one of the few things that can kill you from withdrawal, causes permanent defects on kids during pregnancy, and all of that while being not only legal, not only accepted, but actually actively encouraged and seen as a requirement in society. If you don’t believe me just try to post anything saying that alcohol is stupid at parties.
In the US 31% of car fatalities are linked with alcohol consumption. I don’t think you can argue that it’s negligible.
I doubt that poor infrastructure is causing more than that, and as far as I know there is no magic solution to solve human error (while there is, for drunk driving: don’t drink).
Also this conversation was about comparing it to sugar, and I will take a bet and say that sugar causes car accidents, violence and rape much less often than alcohol.
And car accidents are still more dangerous, and that’s ignoring the non-deadly dangers of alcohol.
Alcohol is incredibly worse, and it’s much less accepted to criticize it. This is inept.
Because you can’t express your opinions without tiktok?
Wow, now that’s a smart take.
The spread of AI as a valid tool to get proper data/information is a big problem and threat. So I have a problem with something that is actively making things worse, yes.
I don’t know who they are talking about, I don’t need to.
And mentioning “legal” doesn’t bring anything to the point of the post, it’s just a side effect of the person’s opinions
