That doesn’t make me jealous.
The fact that we have bred a species to be happy and bring us happiness is, imo, like our best accomplishment.
Also, I can’t think of a single billionaire who is a huge fan of dogs.
Idk man, I bet there are a lot of people in the 10-50 million range that are far happier than oligarchs
Man, I wish I had that much social confidence instead of feeling bad while I kept replying.
I can’t think of a better example of the need to “seize the means of production” than the starlink network.
Seriously, space is not within any country’s borders, how can one have private property up there?
Trick question, they were both not planned since the plan was to have 1
They ran out of data huh?
Is this shower thought about what to wear after said shower?
Smooth criminal in my ass.
Oh no!
the higher the number the more engaging the post is. Or in other words how many people were pissed off enough to comment
Omg, I’m so glad there isn’t any entity trying to boost this KPI like it’s the only thing that matters in the world.
I would argue that fascism is the capitalism’s second final form.
Final form is feudalism, as always
The main good thing about blue sky is that it kind of taught people that jumping ship is always an option.
Which is a good lesson overall.
It’s not the technology, it’s the businesses interests behind such technology.
We live in a time of robber barons and these are just their tools
So I actually read the article, even though there are huge outstanding questions on the nature of ownership, that’s actually not what the court argument is about:
Replying to Ubisoft’s argument that the statute of limitations is up, the plaintiffs responded with their own photos of The Crew’s packaging, which states that the activation code for the game doesn’t expire until 2099; that’s an example of how Ubisoft “implied that [The Crew] would remain playable during this time and long thereafter,”
Well yeah… software as a service is a thing but Ubisoft is straight up lying…
My two cents: no one is expecting online services to be up forever, so imo the correct solution is open source the game after the company meets their 10 (or 20) year obligation which should be clearly pointed out during the initial rental agreement (shouldn’t call it purchase)
Which goes to show you the economic divide.
PCs are a fraction of the cost, little wear and tear, no maintenance cost, no insurance nor storage costs, and no need to be licensed.
I honestly think it’s just that we are more poor than the boomers.
Gen Z are into social media most, it’s cause it’s cheaper than buying electronics and building PCs, all you need is 1 smart phone.
I bet gen alpha would be into minimalism given the trend.
Romans have entered the chat
Nah, it won’t be the same.
100 years ago we didn’t have ecological collapse.
It’s gonna be the golden age of piracy ya’ll.
Time and time again they keep “fixing” piracy with good access (Netflix, steam) and then spend the next decade(s) ruining it.
Tim bits is what we use in Canada
I also think it’s a generational thing.
Back then, since chess was associated with intelligence, a lot of academic types tried to play it and get good at it.
I would say once we had computers, there was another much more practical thing you could get good at.
But seriously, chess sets used to be part of the house decor.
