Wow, I’m at ~$3800 and have 535 games on a 15-ish year account, you’ve done good for yourself. I’ve also brought in some games from humble bundles, but if I have to guess these total 20% of my purchases at most.

It may have not caused that much panic, but Amplitude consistently put out interesting ideas and enhancements to the Civ-likes in their games, so no wonder Firaxis might use these as templates and negate any unique features their competition might have over them. Plus, the Civ genre has to move in some way, anyway.
Oops, you’re right, corrected.
Or 1994’s Colonization?
Haven’t played Humankind yet, but Amplitude’s previous Civ/4X-like “Endless Legend” was amazing and very fresh take on the genre. And it looked like Firaxis were already trying to copy some of it in Civ 6, so I’m not surprised this trend continues.
I agree on the outdated UI, but at least it gives you a ton of options that official apps would never allow you, or babysit you too much to offer.
I’ve literally used Calibre 2-3 times, and while the UI seemed daunting at first, it was logical and did did its job quite fast when figured out. And I usually don’t need to use it afterwards for another long period.
Good luck doing that to my 2012 5th gen Kindle that’s been off the update schedule for an eternity.
Plenty of 4k with HDR on Real Debrid. Or even better quality and bitrate ripped from BRs, in the open waters.
This seems like the most likely intended consequence to me. They probably know their userbase well, and actual humans declining aren’t gonna be swayed to stay by a price hike. Those bots, on the other hand…
Yeah, keep X on and pile up the multi-million fines if they don’t comply with laws. That’s the only thing companies care about - something eating up their profits.
And if they keep not complying - then ban it altogether, like Brazil did. I prefer to recognize and ban it for the illegal activities it does, not because some folks don’t like it and banded together against it.
I generally don’t pre-order, probably won’t this time too as release has creeped so close anyway. But definitely buying it full price, just waiting for some day-1 reviews to check if it needs patches or not. I love the STALKER series, played them all and I definitely feel I own GSC some more money for the FPSs I’ve most enjoyed in the last 20 years or so.
Lol, the Orange box was my first purchase that installed Steam too. Technically should’ve done that with HL2, but I played it way after release, and sadly all I could afford at the time was the pirated version. But having sinked in so much dough through Steam afterwards, I doubt Valve would care.
