Those huge models are a nice novelty, and that’s about it.

If they ship it without DRM, they could label literally anything an “Old Game” and that’d be fine by me.
This is how you find out your profile’s bad.
I don’t know how applicable this is to this persons specifically, but here’s some general advice from someone who’s been on both sides (I’m trans), and got a high amount of matches either way.
Every woman I’ve spoken to about Tinder agrees :
Men overwhelmingly have profiles with little to no info in their bio (most often copy-pasted jokes, extremely generic facts like “I like food and music”…)
And poorly taken and/or cringe photos (posing with their car, half drunk with half a dozen other people, making a weird face, showing off nonexistent gains…)
If you want more matches, you need good pictures (not blurry, not from far away, not backlit) that stand out from the rest (especially, no one cares about your car. An expensive car is a huge douchebag redflag), and a bio that actually says something about your hobbies, world view, etc.
So, in summary, two steps :
I do ! I use NoScript in Firefox, and I allow scripts selectively when they’re needed. You’d be surprised how many websites just work with everything off !
This may differ depending on your usage, though. I don’t really use in-browser apps if at all possible, and I don’t use conventional social media aside from YouTube and Reddit (PeerTube and Lemmy are better but there’s still too much info / people on the corporate versions to fully switch over)
You have JavaScript enabled by default ?
Full disk encryption with a LVM inside a LUKS arrition is pretty easy to setup, arch wiki is very helpful for that ! You can even encrypt most of the bootloader, so the drive is 100% useless if stolen.
Afaik, they were forced to log and report IP addresses for the user’s mail logins.
They can’t do that for their VPN, though, so I’ve seen some people recommend you create your account through another VPN or via their Onion service, and then only connect with the VPN on.
This seems fragile at best, and isn’t helped by the fact the most anonymous payment option they accept is cash by mail, which is still quite traceable. They also take bitcoin, which is extremely traceable.
If they expand to accept Monero, I’ll reconsider, but for now I’m sticking with Mullvad. I use mailbox.org for mail, which does log IP addresses (for 4 days), but it is a separate account from my VPN so I don’t really care.
I’m also put off by their recent posts supporting the Republican Party. It is really strange for a privacy company to support authoritarians, and the addition of them leaving Mastodon but staying on Xitter doesn’t inspire much confidence in them.
Thank you ! I’ll go check that out 🙂
I wish I could seed but Mullvad doesn’t allow port forwarding, and ProtonVPN has given out IPs under court order so I don’t trust them for any purpose.
I’ll have to look into other VPNs I think, because I’m ideologically very much for seeding.
That would have been nice to know for the past 7 Reddit accounts I’ve deleted without doing this 😂 but I guess it’s alright.
( I used to make a new account every year and empty out the previous one. This time is the last, though I may keep using it logged out just because of the amount of information on there )
As one of the earliest Discord users, it pains me to see this, but it doesn’t surprise me. Ever since Nitro became a thing, Discord has been slowly but surely digging its grave.
I have no particular attachment to the platform, we will just move to something different if alternate Discord apps aren’t available to disable the ads.
Good riddance to this un-indexable deep-web mess, where information goes to die and never be found again. We only really used it for the voice chat anyway 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you ! Works wonders 🙂 is there a point to editing instead of just deleting, though ? I’m doing both just in case but I don’t know if that’s useful
While we have you here, how did you mass edit your comments ? I’ve seen a few paid services but I really don’t want to pay…
92% of my playtime is Minecraft, makes sense.
Games as a whole are getting better, but AAA is getting worse.
This is what differentiates old money from nouveau-riche. They’re both evil, but the first have a sense of dignity about it.
Corrected !
I only read 1984 once in French 11 years ago, so it’s a little fuzzy 😆
Literally 1984.
This is a textbook example of newspeak / doublethink, exactly how they use the word “corruption” to mean different things based on who it’s being applied to.
I believe he may be quite surprised soon when people don’t buy it.
