Pretty sure we even have plenty of depressed and lonely people who have actual sex. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them aren’t depressed and lonely precisely because they are surrounded by so many people who supposedly care about them but really don’t.

If that is their level of understanding of what constitutes code quality I am not surprised they think LLMs can actually produce usable code.

Usually the goal when funding stuff like this is to buy some influence to control major decisions. I wouldn’t put it beyond an independent foundation, to take just one example, to drastically reduce the deadlines between confidential disclosure and public release where some government or corporate controlled organization might set some that are more made for the slow speed of large org bureaucracy.

The reason why I was thinking it would utilities is that the big name brand social media stuff often pays to come pre-installed.
My guess would be that none of the big, well known brands are in the top ten and that those are instead useful utilities that almost everybody uses but rarely talks about.
While I see their concern I would be more worried that the sensitive data is exposed to workflows that deserve the “enterprise” warning label.

That is what advertising companies would like you to believe but the effect is nowhere near this drastic, otherwise they would be showing double-blind studies about the effectiveness of advertising to all their customers all the time.

It is all fine if that is what you really want. It can cause depression though in people who didn’t really want it but tried to get it anyway because that is what society told them they should do.
