Edit: Another comment mentioned Plane, I’d recommend it over Cryptpad. Cryptpad is really barebones in comparison even though they’re growing and adding features and integrations.

In 1873 Japan changed from the Chinese Lunar Calendar to the Western Gregorian calendar during the Meiji Restoration, but kept the Chinese Zodiac.
Meaning a Japanese person born at the beginning of the year (between New Year’s Day of the Gregorian calendar and New Year’s Day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar) will have a different Chinese Zodiac than a Chinese Person.
For example, someone born between January 1st 2025 and January 28th 2025 inclusive would be considered the Year of the Snake in Japan, whereas in the rest of East and Southeast Asia, someone born on those dates would still be the year of the Dragon.
In China and the rest of East and Southeast Asia, the Lunar New Year January 29th 2025 would be the beginning of the year of the snake.
Edit: Living in Japan and dating Japanese people, they really don’t like when you tell them this lol.

Thanks. I’m running PopOS Cosmic Alpha and it doesn’t like the executable, and since its in alpha there’s features missing in this DE that would allow me (linux noob) to easily install it. I’ll try installing Grayjay again when my OS / DE is in beta or something.

151·6 months agoAnecdotes: my neighbors used to let their baby crawl around the gravel parking lot, neighborhood cats and dogs hanging out, and I was like “Those are good parents.”
Meanwhile a neat freak surgeon and nurse couple raised kids that are allergic to nearly everything in the world (ex used to babysit the allergic kids).
Something good about growing up with cats and dogs in the house and playing in the mud. (If you’re in an area without parasites in the ground)
Audi Pre-Sense was the worst offender. Looks like many others have similar experiences even this year:
I had a Nissan after that that implemented it a lot better, never any slam the brakes events. It would warn you with a beep and apply light braking first.
