That’s gonna be our approach, too with our kiddo.
It’s a hard one to fight your own overly-conservative programming in order to teach a healthier outlook to your kids. Hard to know if you’re going too far one way or the other. So much of parenting you just don’t know if you’re doing it right until you’re done.
Fist-bump from one internet parent to another, you’re doing a great job ✌️
Never used one of those, but showerheads and bath faucets certainly
Not just boys. Girls explore and test boundaries with their genitals too.
It’s instinctual in that all babies explore their genitals as soon as they can start willfully moving their hands, yes. It’s not just boys having a special connection to their genitalia.
Well, if you really wanna get into it, I blame the Romans. It was their colonialism and influence that made the region of the Franks what it was culturally. Then their collapse created a power vacuum allowing this remnant territory to rise and fill it, wanting to be its own new Rome (like almost every other empire that arose after that). And on and on until today. Colonialism and imperialism is a cancer that has been growing and growing through the ages to get us to where we are today
I tend to agree. Plus, wasn’t ancient Egyptian pretty consonant heavy, with scientists basically filling in the blanks with vowels so we can more easily read/pronounce it? That’s another reason, IMO, to lean towards soft g/j… I’m just flying blind with vibes as my guide mostly, tho, I’m definitely no expert
Edit: even if the ‘j’ was pronounced as a ‘y’, being that close to the ‘d’ basically makes the whole thing moot when it comes to pronunciation. Said quickly (like calling—or scolding lol) a pet, both pronunciations sound quite similar
This has happened to our cat who managed to scramble up to a shelf in front of our big bay window in our living room. He was trying to swat at bugs that will occasionally bump into it from outside. Our shelf is twice as wide as this one, and he still lost his footing :/
Ours isn’t as high up as this one, thankfully, and we keep a cushioned rug and dog beds directly underneath it that he landed on, so he wasnt hurt. But yeah, this one would make me nervous.
'Course, they know their cat’s disposition best, maybe they’re super chill and never move very fast/suddenly. Would just hate for someone to try this and have their kitty get hurt
Fair enough, I just like languages so I’m more interested to satisfy my own curiosity, haha
I wish the first part were actually true, on the bureaucratic level. Sadly it is quite difficult to emigrate to the EU
Always a safe bet to blame the fr*nch
I was just wondering about pronunciation to do the same! Would it be nehd-jehm with the ‘j’ pronounced like in ‘gem’? Or would it be nehd-yehm? With the ‘j’ sounding like a ‘y’? My instinct says the first for ancient Egyptian, but pronunciation of things can surprise us
Haha, I agree with you on the last point, but their passion for their teams (let’s not forget OSU, though many OU fans wish we could) is something else. My SO is a huge OU fan, and though I don’t quite ‘get’ the love for football, it’s cool to learn about all their traditions. The Sooner Schooner being my favorite
That’s just what I was thinking. Two OU fans can meet each other anywhere in the world and one can say “Texas,” and the other will say “Sucks,” without missing a single beat. The whole thing is a call and response between each half of the stadium:
A- “Boomer”
B- “Sooner”
A- “Texas”
B- “Sucks”
Pretty coordinated for a bunch of blind-drunk undergrads. That’s just the first thing that came to mind, I’m sure many other teams have more elaborate chants
Weirdly appropriate username lol
Like a lot. Like €300,000. Which is cheap compared to other countrys’ golden visas tbf
Because that’s what tires are made out of, and they wear away as you drive (that’s why you need to replace tires every so often as the treads wear away). That material doesn’t just disappear, it gets ground down and dispersed into the environment as they’re used.
It’s one reason why electric cars aren’t a great solution for anyone but car manufacturers—the tires. They’ll cut down on fossil fuel use and fuel emissions, yes, but that’s not the only way cars pollute.
EDIT: Also, thank you for asking! Always happy to explain :)
