If it was as easy as giving it a nice name, you could just rename seed boxes to fair use machines.
It’s a finicky legal topic, because transformative can be anything and nothing. If you take an album and shuffle the tracks or create a mixtape from multiple albums, that is technically transformative, but most likely not enough to justify fair use.
That one was a reissue of the original GameCube controller with the original connector and everything. It works on the original GameCube and Wii and with the USB adapter that was released with it, you can use it or any other GameCube controller on the WiiU, Switch and maybe even Switch 2.
This new controller looks like a GameCube controller, but is something entirely new. It is a modern wireless controller that mimics the GameCube controller shape and button layout but won’t work on the original GameCube, at least not without some additional adapter hardware
Even if Nintendo moved final assembly to the US (which they won’t), they’d still likely need to import the components they don’t manufacture themselves like the screen, battery, memory chips, SoC and what not, which then again would be tarrifed.
By that logic it would be legal to pirate anything as long as you do so to write a review. Because then you download it to create some transformative product, protected under fair use.
Or better idea: someone should write a tool so that anyone can publish an AI based on their pirated library thus turning it into fair use
What exactly is your critique? Do you think news aggregator style social media is an issue in general or is there something that lemmy just doesn’t do good enough?
To be fair, Germany is still far better off than the US or some other European countries. In the national election that just happened, the far right party won about 20% of the votes and the (traditionally) centre-right party won while moving further to the right. That said they’re still about as far right as the Democrats in the US.
It’s just that Germans are on alert about the rise of fascism and are raising the alarm bells now, before the fascist actually take over control.
I don’t get the point. Framework laptops are interesting because they are modular but for desktop PCs that’s the default. And Framework’s PCs are less modular than a standard PC because the RAM is soldered
Is Hamilton known for any other impact than driving the car fast? It was my understanding that in the Roberg/Hamilton days of Mercedes Hamilton was faster on average, but it was mostly Rosberg’s feedback that drove the development forward. And at Ferrari it’s yet to see if he’s even able to drive faster than Leclerc.
Free and open source, but if you’re willing to pay, you could donate to the project.
Same for me, I haven’t even played any of the winners. But I consider it quite healthy sign for gaming that I had a great time without even touching the most popular picks.
The average person is quite stupid and about half the people are even stupider (sic)
That also fits how the one dude in the back holds the fries into the camera in a perfect product placement way.
Yes, and “alive” is quite stretching it. Even if Norris wins every point still available in the last 3 race weekends, Verstappen only needs 24 points to secure the title. He could finish 6th three times to secure the title. Even if Verstappen doesn’t get a single point in the last races, Norris needs to finish second every race and sprint and then get at least two more points through fastest laps or a win. There is still some mathematical chance but in reality over.
I don’t think logseq has fully automated synchronization, at least it didn’t when I started using it. What it does have is the option to automatically git commit changes. You can then synchronize through a remote repo. It isn’t fully automatic and requires a remote repo you can trust with your data but it works great for me
The Egyptians most certainly didn’t use the Latin alphabet 5000 years ago, in fact noone used the Latin alphabet until more than 2000 years later. So how on earth do you come up with the transcription “aaa” and is it supposed to be pronounced a-a-a or what?
That’s the beauty about open source: it isn’t beholden to the whims of anyone. If disagree with the Linux Foundation, you’re free to make your own independent fork. Others that agree with you can then start contributing to the fork. And this isn’t a purely theoretical scenario as it has happend with other open source projects before.
They did some great fan service before. In Borderlands 2, there is the NPC Michael Mamaril in Sanctuary who can randomly give out guns when talked to. That NPC is a tribute to the real Michael Mamaril, a fan that passed before Borderlands 2 was released
Then an ethically and sustainably built smart phone isn’t for you, because that won’t be possible at that price point. But that isn’t an issue as there is a sustainable option at that price point: buying second hand.
