Some dorks in this thread are the perfect example of who potential protesters need to ignore.

I brought up “truckers blocking highways and important intersections” to my very good (but desperately clueless) friend. Violence free, requires few bodies, historically effective.

He said “but what about the people they inconvenience?”

I’m like dude. Inconvenience to power is. the. point.

I love him but he’s a fool, guy thinks protests are people smiling and holding clever signs.

Sad thing is he’s representative of a lot of people.

They’ll be happy when things are better but idgaf about asking their advice. They don’t read history, the closest theyll get to a protest is the news coverage, and they’ll never be satisfied with less than some impossible dream of a “immaculate conception protestation”

    So like, fuck em

  • Sounds like avocado toast-ian blame-shifting to me. Just like the rest of these pieces, they ignore the obvious, horrible conditions of life, and choose to tut-tut at the abused for ‘improperly’ using their free time.

just like the avocado toast shit, the translation of these pieces is broadly:

Look away, reader, from the terrible low wages, high cost of living, and soul-crushing work hours japanese people are forced to endure. Focus your attention on these 19% of young people, who don’t know any better, who you are better than. Laugh at these losers who admit that one time they almost couldn’t cover their expenses!!

    Let’s look at the article.

Interestingly enough, while these results indicate that the popularity of in-game transactions may be increasing, the average amount of money spent on them is actually decreasing.

Hmm, could it be the actual problem is the immense increases to CoL young (and all) people have been under? I wonder why the article doesn’t even bring it up? So curious 🤔

Oh well. So like, how much money are we talking about on gacha? How much are these 19% of young folks spending? Must be a ton eh?

Article doesn’t say, but we do get these numbers

In 2024, young people spent an average of around 5,138 yen ($35.85 USD) on microtransactions per month while this year’s survey results state that the average amount of money spent on microtransactions is 4,247 yen ($29.63 USD) per month.

So it’s not a lot, not really. I say again, this article is slop created to take your eyes away from the real problems of the world and victim blame the ones suffering under them.

Can we please put a pause on the focus on social inclusion, and focus on defeating the fascists trying to own the world?

One does not preclude the other. There is energy for both inclusion and revolution.

In fact, revolution is inclusion, is mutual-aid, etc. It’s a requirement. For every person “fighting” there are 10 more people supporting the people and the community that fascism and its shrinking safety nets leave behind

  • I hate Nintendo exclusives because i hate Nintendos hardware. I do love their software, so i emulate it.

I get why they need exclusives, if they want to keep making consoles instead of turning into SEGA they need to give peeps a reason to buy their console, which since the wii (?) has had a deliberate focus on less powerful hardware. If they didn’t have those N exclusives those games would look better on their competitor’s systems.

Like i said, i love their games, can’t stress that enough. I hate, hate, HATE their hardware tho. I’ve refused to buy Nintendo stuff since i felt burned by n64s crap analog sticks (i hold a mean grudge haha) and the only way Nintendo would get my hard fought-stretched-to-hell $ is if they sold pc copies of their games.

I wish they’d consider doing that (after a few years of exclusivity even, i’m a patientgamer) but i don’t think they ever will :(
