  • Unfortunately the “horror” that is windows persists almost as much as the horror of Linux. Which is a bunch of fanbois crowing about their distro without any explanation at all. But why do they do this? Because that’s how they got into it, and that’s how the people that got them into it got into it.

Which fucking distro should I use?
    - Well, really it’s just preference.

    Then I choose arch.
    - Uh, wrong try again lol.

Fair enough, Which fucking distro should I use?
    - Well, really it’s whatever works for you.

Okay, I didn’t like the feel of that one.
    - Well, you were using the wrong desktop environment.

😐😑😤😠… …Which fucking desktop environment should I use?
    - Well, really it’s just preference.

    🤬. 🤬🤬, 🤬. 🤬.
    - Look clearly you don’t know what you’re doing just use Ubuntu, or Kubuntu, or Lubuntu, or Xubuntu, or Fubuntu, or Poobuntu, or Schmubuntu. And with cinnamon obvi.

Well how do I know? The site for each one uses the exact same bloviated claims. They’re all feature rich, and lightweight, and extended support, etc. Do I have to install them all to find out?
    - Yes but that’s impossible. So just use mine, it works.

Until it doesn’t. Then you need to hit up Linux self help forums, to get help from Linux bros, who are the most detestable group of unhelpful, impatient, and pretentious neckbeards imaginable. “Did you try searching first?” “Just use our discord!” “Just use [my fucking distro!]”

    😖🤯👺

Ugh, I’m so burned out on trying freecad, getting nowhere, nothing is straightforward or intuitive, watching hours of tutorials doing nothing you want to do with it, spending hours trying to figure it out, best attempt ever was not much more than a few basic shapes…

Fuck autodesk all day, every day, but here’s fusion:

    • create parameters with the giant fucking f(x) button
    • create sketch with parameters by selecting literally any sketch function
    • extrude from sketch and modify body and faces
    • rinse and motherfucking repeat

Until freecad can claim to at the very least offer an equally simple workflow, no thanks. I’d rather use blender.

  • Haven’t played the other two, but have been playing monster hunter for almost 20 years now. Capcom is wysiwyg when it comes to monhunbo. And the recent releases have had exclusive pre-release gear (albeit ones with short lived usefulness). And while they and hello games are still releasing new content for free, they can have my money any time they want.

I trust my credit card more with Sean Murray than my wife.

  • Honestly, part 2 was so poorly done that you’re really not missing out on anything. You remember how violence oriented part 1 was? Do you remember how there were cutscenes that depicted violent actions that you had literally no control over? Do you by any chance recall the final events in part 1 that require you to take violent actions in order to progress the game in literally any perceivable way?

Well part 2 drukkmann says, STOP THAT! Violence never solved anything idiot!!! Unless you didn’t play part 2 at all… In which case, I suppose violence was the only way, and it solves everything. Part 1 drukkmann literally couldn’t tell the story without assurance that you used violence.

“And why was violence important to the narrative and success of part 1,” Jan asked…

    Mr. Brown says

My experience is completely the opposite of what you describe, not that I disregard anything you’ve stated. I’ve been on nearly the same dose for nearly 40 years and do not perceive any changes in the effect I receive. And I’d rather live without my medication while waiting on temporary shortages than live my life without it.

This is equally as infuriating to me as the rising cost of stamps. 😐

If you are going to pretend to have scruples then at least pretend to have standards, or dignity for that matter. 😂 If you are so involved (even in the most modest terms) in the ecosystem of predatory games like World of Warcraft, to the point that you are even tenuously aware of news relating to them then you deserve all of it.

  • Lamps were “total disasters” until they weren’t. Crosswalks even. Toilets in Seattle.

There are lots of things that were “total disasters” at one point but were developed into safe reliable things. That’s not a reason to abandon an endeavor entirely, but a great reason to redirect or refine it.

Also, headlines are not news, and most non-electrical engineers, let alone journalists, know jack fucking shit about electrical engineering. EEVBlog did a great few videos about solar roadways and their flaws.

  • FYI, the disney situation that people are referring to here is a very complicated legal situation rife with bad actors. The reporting on it was broadly mishandled by the media, so legal professionals have broken it down. It is far more nuanced than people here are making it out to be and the simple narrative that you will see getting upvoted entirely mischaracterizes what actually happened (ie happened according to both disney and the plaintiff, yes they both agree). But due to the fact that disney kind of comes out of the situation looking like - dare I say - the good guy (or at least the gooder one), people have latched onto the misinformed simplistic narrative because it requires less effort and falls into the evil corporation trope. So instead of making any claims here, because I’m exhausted from arguing with Internet babies and I have a ketamine therapy today, I encourage you to watch Legal Eagle’s breakdown of the case.

I’m not trying to convince you of anything other than the fact that this is a complex topic that has been mishandled by the media. I work in an extremely remote location with thousands of people that might as well be flat-earthers, so being truthful is extremely important to me. And we will need honest discourse if we as a society are ever going to overcome the misinformation brainworm that US politics has put on steroids. Good luck.
