  • All you do is a quick search on the case to see if it’s real or not.

You could easily. We have resources such as LexusNexus or Westlaw which your firm should be paying for. Even searching on Google Scholar should be enough to verify. Stay away from Casetext though, it’s new and mostly AI. LN and WL also have AI integration but it’s not forced, you’re still capable of doing your own research.

I’ve been telling people this for a while, but everyone needs to treat AI like how we used to treat the wiki. It’s a good secondary source that can be used to find other more reliable sources, but it should never be used as your single standalone source.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it, AI is being forced everywhere you look and it is getting a bit difficult to get away from it, but it hasn’t taken over everything to the point where there is no longer any personal responsibility. People need to have some common sense and double check everything as they’ve been taught to do even before AI.

  • A bit of an exaggeration but a lot of people will never understand that some people do not have much of a social battery left at the end of the day.

I have had so many people including rl friends, exs, or people I used to play online games with fail to understand that I don’t have that much energy in the evenings or even on the weekends sometimes. There’s dealing with my boss, dealing with my coworkers, dealing with people from other firms. Sometimes through teams, sometimes through the phone, sometimes in person.

Everyone’s memeing but it looks grim.

Having AI turn into an arms race between China and the U.S. will only accelerate its growth. For a while it looked like AI was stagnating, the bubble might burst, and people were tempering their expectations of what we had. That just got thrown out the window. I can’t think of any way you could damage the competitiveness of what China is offering, so U.S. tech now have to improve and there will probably be greater support from the U.S. government to see that improvement.

People simply don’t win in the long term when these improvements will go towards taking their jobs.

I’ve heard people are starting to do this on TikTok as well. I think it says more about us a civilization than anything. This is a clear scarcity/enshittification issue. Everyone wants good value and good quality products. Unfortunately a lot of mom/pop shops that produce those products don’t want to expand and if they do end up franchised capitalism’s ever growing desire for increased gains ensures that the franchised products only become worse over time.

It’s a clear shame to see capitalism pitting people against each other in this fashion.

Not surprising. Israel had the tech to bug everyones phones.

The Israeli NSO group which is a day 1 hacks group developed the Pegasus spyware and found lots of creative ways to get it on peoples phones. They also sold it later on to just about anyone who was willing to pay.

I’m sorry that happened to you but I appreciate you warning people of the dangers of being confrontational with these people.

It’s not worth it. You won’t change their mind, people nearby aren’t going to clap for you, you’re just unnecessarily putting yourself in harms way because many of these people are not kind, they will respond aggressively.

  • People really just weren’t ready for social media or having miniature computer-cameras at their disposal constantly.

If your child is having a meltdown of throwing a tantrum then you as a parent have a job to be doing. Put the phone back in your pocket or your purse and attend to your kid. Figure out what the problem is, do what you need to do to calm them down and consider that maybe if this is a frequent occurrence that perhaps you as a parent fucked up somewhere and you’re going to have to be responsible by working to correct whatever mistakes you made that brought this bad habit into existence.
