Fellas is it weak to not carry your 50lb suitcase everywhere? Definitionally yes but oh my god how fragile.
Nothing more manly than being surrounded by dudes and raw onions while getting drunk because you’re too much of a wuss to go to therapy or even address emotional trauma yourself.
I also like how they had a gender neutral bathroom.
Almost like he’s never had a consequence and…he’s actually right on this one. No one will do anything about it.
Aliens will come here and ask “oh so you all bow to them because they can breathe acid and are resistant to small arms fire?” and we’ll look them in their faces and say “no, they’re actually pretty average and some are shockingly unhealthy and weak. Pretty much all their power is comes directly from what we give them for money, as they aren’t even particularly clever. We just…I dunno, can’t? I guess?”
Except that even if your commute is 20km that’s still going tonlast you all week. Obviously there are other trips to make but it’s definitely not stopping 99.9% of people in the middle of their commute, or even their workday, to charge.
I don’t know why so many people think whatever they buy needs to be able to handle every single fringe case they’ve never even experienced or why they think that something being absolutely adequate for their own use is somehow bad. It’s room-temp IQ bullshit and I’m tired of it.
17k for a vehicle powered by a watch battery(exaggeration) is pretty sick and more than practical, even for people in North America.
Also shows how much they actually can’t or won’t leave based just on just a (much needed) tax increase.
I’m younger than both of ya’ll but I remember playing COD Modern Warfare 2 on my Xbox 360 with a 27” CRT TV and a connection that put me a good few tenths of a second behind everyone else(estimating off of killcam footage).
I cleaned up most of the time. I had to get good and I didn’t know at first that it was my connection so I just started going wild lol. I only played hardcore mode and used fast, light weapons so I could react and correct more quickly. Probably couldn’t pull it off these days but it’s a fun memory.
To me, a light-rail is something that operate within a municipality. Like, it’s for commuting and isn’t too intense, but differs from a subway because it is not strictly underground. Having a bathroom in a light-rail setup would be like having one on a metro whereas having a bathroom on an inter-city train makes a whole lot more sense.
Ya’ll have a bathroom on your light rail? Are we still talking about simple metro systems are is that not a full-blown “train”(I put it quotes because they’re all trains, but you get the idea).
Conservatives that aren’t rich, white, and straight surprise the hell out of me. Like, it was literally founded to push only that group and at the time even Irish people weren’t the right kind of white.
To be fair, what sounded like some northern European idea of just ignoring the person so much they have to leave did, on researching, lead to the Wikipedia article titled “Arson in Medieval Scandinavia” and was about burning people alive in their own homes.
Reddit still sucks and all and I wouldn’t be at all sad if this happened to quite a few of these fuckwads but I mean c’mon they definitely weren’t mad at the effectiveness of the solution.
Is it resilience to succumb to trauma and push the bad feelings all the way down? I’m glad they got through it, of course, but if we’re talking about definitions then I’m not 100% sold. Resilience, to me, is defined by resisting being wounded in the first place but I will concede that many perspectives will see a few scars as a good trade for whatever else could have happened.
Kids are smarter than we like to believe, and personally I believe in treating them better than the attitude of “because I said so” does(but still also understand that things like trying them as minors and having a relatively high age of consent are good, of course). They are, however, also way more fragile and malleable.
Yes, and stupid and lazy people don’t want walkable spaces. Neither, it seems, do you. Curious.
Wait, did they think the bathrooms were special and cost money? Many places just slap a paper “gender neutral” sign on their washrooms and call it a day until a nicer sign can come in. The really good places knew this shit ages ago and already saved themselves the trouble by putting in a shared sink area and having stalls with real doors. As someone who has literally had to fit washrooms into floor plans I can guarantee that if cost and ease were problems then we’d only have gender neutral washrooms.
If someone did a horrific thing and then told me they weren’t as guilty as their boss I’d be fairly confident saying that if their first priority was to justify their actions then they can also get absolutely fucked.
The US was never really that against them. Their motivation in WW2 was not nearly as morally perfect as they like to pretend.
I’m not going to go refind the examples, but there have been stories about things soldiers do that are definitely not ordered by anyone else. There can be a level of cruelty at times that is completely on the individual and they cannot always hide behind “I was told to”.
And that 8th day will absolutely be a working day for reasons.
Yea, because that was a deflection and not what we’re talking about. You said that the US has stood for diversity but at every stage of its existence it has stood on the backs and necks of minorities and has struggled to even admit that it has a problem. Even the last admin was ok with Israel wiping out every Palestinian man, woman, and child and sure that’s across the world but if they’re chill with genocide that sets the bar LOW. And buddy have you SEEN how they disenfranchise minority voters? The gerry-mandering maps are fucking WILD. They don’t give a fuck about the people who, to them, are just cheap labour.
Also I live in Canada which beat the US to gay marriage by 10 years and is where many black people escaped the US to. We are far from perfect but at least we had a female prime minister for a few months and a brown guy with a turban leads one of our three major parties. We also have a huge homeless problem but at least they have access to healthcare, and as far as surface-deep things like restaurants are concerned we have just as much diversity in our cities as the US does(and just as much bland, franchised nonsense out of the cities). French is our official second language but the US only has English despite all its Spanish speakers and the fact that a lot of it is straight-up old Mexican territory.
OR, maybe we need to make a new system. It’s not just credit scores or total anarchy, have some imagination, fuck.
For example, maybe a system where paying your credit card off on time or consistently having enough cash to not even need a credit card means that your “score” goes up. If it is truly about being reliable then that’s a no brainer, and yet…
We also shouldn’t be needing so much in the way of loans anyway and we deal with that by forcing minimum wage increases. It’s insane how much people have to put on cards and how normal it is to barely manage a monthly payment on a 30-40 year mortgage. The US and Canada specifically demand that you own a car and the weather is often very hard on them, too, yet once again the prices go up and up and you have to hope for the best that you can afford the payments which hide their increases behind and extended term or only a few more dollars which adds up to thousands on the other end.
