We did all the libertining in the 90s and 00s. They were pretty wild.
And you could argue that the overall permissiveness of society is a part of what the reactionary conservatives are violently railing against.

Which particular set of Israeli policies are you supporting here?
The 10-15 civilian deaths per strike on a possible low level Hamas supporter?
The continued “accidental” killing of medical staff, including Red Cross and Red Crescent workers, and journalists?
The idea of turning off water and electricity from all of Gaza as a valid response?
The escalation of illegal settlement and theft of Palestinian property and land in the West Bank, with IDF support no less?
Or the use of the Hannibal Protocol against Israeli Civilians on October 8th by IDF forces?
Or do you just not think it is incumbent on the one with greater power and strength to offer the olive branch first if peace is truly desires? And in fact would rather the Palestinian people are smeared across an enlarged Israel?
I’m sorry, I figured taking a train load of people hostage or repeated bombings of public transport would be equivalent enough.
The Houthi, and other Zayidi Shia groups, have been discriminated against legally and culturally since the at least the 80s. (At least in part a response to Zaydi rule during the Ottoman Period).
I can’t find straight ethnic group numbers, but most sources state them to be a minority, so I’d assume that that’s the largest single smaller than 50% group. And given the diversity of peoples in Yemen, makes the religious aspect more important.
Not all good though, the Houthi movement could (should) be doing better on treatment of Bahaï and Jewish people, and the treatment of women could be better, but the Houthi forces are also engaged in combat with Al Qaeda, who would be much worse.
They attack all boats except those from countries that do not support Israel.
The stated goal is to push for the alienation of Israel until it ends the crimes against humanity it is committing in Gaza.
I assume you think Pakistan and China’s attacks on the Baloch people are valid as well, then?
Since how dare an exploited ethnic minority have some of its members turn to violence against a hostile state.
They had stopped them for a solid period until Saudi airstrikes began again, and Israeli crimes against humanity in Gaza got more blatantly underway.
Might be worth giving it a try if we care about human life.
By that logic shouldn’t Israel stop the crimes against humanity it’s currently undertaking in Gaza if it doesn’t want shipping attacked?
What other “mistakes” did they make?
A U in “colour”? An S in “realise”?
…
If you’re trolling: well done, wanker.
I didn’t like the first series, and would’ve quit it at episode 3 or so but I ended up without internet access for a couple of days and the whole series downloaded… It got better.
But yeah, life’s too short for TV shows that take time to be taken on faith. And if you did finish the first series and still not like it, more power to you.
To be fair to be fair, those people never complained about the historical accuracy with Pope sword fights, or Leonardo Divinci having technology that wouldn’t be produced until the 1800s, and I’m sure many more historical inaccuracies involving white folks.
Is kinda suss though that Ubisoft couldn’t do more black characters when in the Americas though, but can totally do it when it’s in Asia. 🙆🏾♂️
I’ll respect the pokémon card game for demolishing reprint equity and making sure the meta cards are easily and cheaply available to players.
The card game gameplay, and high level competitive battling, while not M:tG good, are still both solid though. Closer to Magic than they are Yu-Gi-Oh.
Been clean since Sun/Moon.
I was disappointed with X/Y and gave them one last chance to change course.
The disappointing dungeons of X/Y had been replaced by nothing by straight lines with occasional fancy camera angles. The utter disgrace that was Z Cave as a super (only) dungeon was more than anything Sun/Moon offered.
For a game series meant to be about exploring and discovering monsters to collect, they’ve really let the exploration/discovery side down. Holding my console upside down is cool and all that, but gimmicks to sell strategy guides are no subsidy for actual explorable environments to lead to dynamic, emergent gameplay experiences.
Really want to make my take on a monster capture world explorer. I think there’s a lot of space for a spiritual successor to Pokémon.
Local hobbiests tend not to have then as the default for phones, and pc software.
The fact that the US companies can’t even get their voice recognition to follow other US accents but still think that they’re ready for global rollout.
You’re right in that we should encourage non-Yankspeak English search engines. It would be a good way to attempt to stymie the loss of our own culture.
I don’t even have a broad British accent, generic middle class southern, but most speech to text can’t follow me well since I don’t speak Yank.
The (certain, wealthy parts of the) US centrism is mucho annoying.
Stick your tits on Lemmy. There are porn instances, too. 🫣
So when you said “break up Steam” you didn’t mean it in the usual, anti-monopoly sense where bits of a company are spun out into independent entities or sold off?
You meant let everything be done by enthusiasts and have it kinda interoperable?
I’m not against that, but I think there are bigger dragons of capitalism to slay first before we hope that splitting forums off of Steam doesn’t send them the way of the IMDB forums.
Negatively.
In money for servers as well as time. And that’s for something with far less users than Steam.
Only in one city in the world?
Please don’t let it be in the US, please don’t let it be the US…
London?! Hot pukka pies, that’s totally hench!
Edit: Also looks like an amazing line up for the Film on Film festival. Peak celebration of films, in the medium of film.
