4 days agoWe were getting new phones, and decided to go with the Motorola Moto G. It has an SD card slot, headphone jack, and doesn’t advertise around having ai built in. Great battery life too.

I’m also a middle child. My parents wanted a boy and a girl. They got my older brother, then got me (amab), so they adopted my younger sister.

Fedora Silverblue, I downloaded the latest image from their website. I also tried AntiX and Zorin. I just tried using Rufus to burn a FreeDOS USB stick and no luck there either. My old Windows SSD was booting, but now when I just tried again I’m getting BSOD. I think the computer is borked after sitting for too long, so time to build a new one. with blackjack and hookers.
It’s a USB 2 drive and USB 2 ports. I have some USB 3 ports on a PCIe expansion card but they’re not recognized during boot. I tried the other USB 2 port and it was the same result. I’m thinking the MoBo might be borked after sitting for too many years.

My BIOS is old enough that it is legacy :-) It can see the USB device, but for some reason when I try to boot from it the system just hangs with no video output. It sees it as a hard drive, so I have to make it the 1st drive and then I can set the boot priority.

I disabled quick boot. My BIOS is old enough that it doesn’t have secure boot.

I am using Rufus with MBR and “BIOS or UEFI”, I don’t see a BIOS-only mode.
When I burn the USB stick, I get a popup about a hybrid ISO. I’ve tried both ISO mode and dd mode, neither option lets me boot.
1·2 months agoAdd a stand alone iplayer subscription and let people from other countries subscribe. I would get it, and channel 4. Lots of stuff that britbox doesn’t have, and BBC America is mostly Top Gear reruns now that Disney stole Doctor Who.
2·2 months agoI’m still on 10. I’m waffling between installing bazzite on my laptop, building a new computer and installing bazzite, or just using my steam deck as a daily driver. But none of the options include using windows.

1·3 months agoThe value of a unit of currency is based on someone else’s willingness to accept it. If you’re willing to accept two clam shells in exchange for one widget, then our clam shell currency has value between us.
Almost anyone in the world is (currently) willing to accept a US dollar. There will be some exchange rate and transaction fee, so maybe I demand three dollars instead of two. I know that I can convert those three US dollars into my local currency that others are willing to accept.
The whole premise of bitcoin is that the line will continue going up and someone will always be willing to pay more for it than what you paid. If you agree to sell your car for one bitcoin, and tomorrow it crashes, you just lost the entire value of your car. The chances of a sovereign currency crashing is never 0, but it’s much more stable than bitcoin.
Adventure mode is more accessible compared to the previous versions of DF, but still more difficult than Fortress mode which is still difficult.
Hopefully they can bring it out of retirement, that blimp really seemed to piss off Donald and the Trumpettes
