Digital artist who infrequently can scrape enough energy to create stuff. I like to escape with art and draw cute anthros.

  • Honestly if you have a tablet for long enough, the marks on the surface become pretty evident. Before my cheap huion tablet of several years finally gave out, parts of it felt like drawing on top of a vinyl record because the marks were so numerous and dug through the surface. In a way it was pretty cool to think about the amalgamation of all the strokes I ever used to create so many different things, all overlayed on top of one another onto a single “page.”

  • Yeah that’s totally fair. I was trying to steelman the position of the prompting being a labor of love through intensive writing, because I felt that granting this falls flat, and seemingly treats writing as unworthy compared to a purely generated visual interpretation. I entirely grant that in reality, a prompt is about as creative as placing an order in a restaurant.

  • I think this question sidesteps something even more fundamental. Pouring your heart and soul into describing a world through words is creative writing, and obviously has artistic merit in and of itself. Why is creative writing such an apparently unworthy art form, that all of that effort would be better off tossed into the trash, and replaced by a machine generation based upon it instead?

If you genuinely have the desire and capacity to write in depth about worlds, and things that happen within them, simply posting that writing would be wonderful. Visual mediums are not the end all be all of artistic expression, or human communication in general. I write comments and express my ideas through words all the time, and I appreciate when humans do the same for me in return.

  • From what I understand the default behavior of NSFW communities is that remote posts are effectively treated as hidden and don’t show up unless you’re subscribed or directly access the community. However, Lemmynsfw explicitly altered this behavior such that their posts go into main feeds and were treated as normal (though marked as nsfw).

I was never subscribed to any lemmynsfw community but would routinely see their posts scrolling through top day, so I blocked the instance and now I don’t. Very useful feature.

  • General public ‘enthusiastic’ about Luigi’s leadership changes at United Healthcare.

Despite alleged claims of controversy from some higher up in the company, a recent public poll shows overwhelming support of the sudden termination of the former CEO of UHC, Brian Thompson. The healthcare giant has seen ever increasing hostility to its subscribers in recent years, many citing a sharp increase of over 30% of all claims being denied as their primary reason for wanting leaders to be held accountable, and for a restructuring to take place. When asked for comment, Sarah Henley—a chronic patient and UHC policy holder—responded “I’m so glad someone is willing to make steps in the right direction.”

As for those outspoken against the sudden and bold change, the concern stems largely from both job security and severance accommodations. “This is horrifying” said an executive who wishes to remain anonymous, “I’m scared for my [financial] life.” This fear is even more compacted by Luigi’s alleged lack of severance for the now former CEO, a move in radical opposition to conventional business practices. While no details have yet been confirmed on the terms of termination, this would certainly send a chilling signal to those in leadership positions throughout UHC, and perhaps set precedent for other companies who may look to adopt the strategy. Internal communications reveal leaders are scrambling to get answers, and rightfully so. A job loss of this scale could mean only years of luxury remain for those unfortunate enough to bite the proverbial bullet from Mr. Mangione, or anyone else in his position down the road.

  • To our fallen soldiers, know that Luigi appreciates your resistance against adversity. Luigi respects your contributions to incremental change. Luigi knows perfect is the enemy of good, and just how much we need good right now. Do not feel shame in failure, but solace in knowing you tried in earnest.
