That’s understandable. I do recall when setting up my stuff that Proton’s documentation left a lot to be desired. Thankfully I found the Dr Frankenstein guides that walked me through it. I don’t do much script writing of my own though, so that may not be helpful for everyone.
Wait, port forwarding on Proton is locked behind a GUI? That doesn’t seem right - I use proton with port forwarding for my torrent setup on my NAS and it connects to VPN just using environment variables from a docker compose file. No Proton software installed at all.
Also fully possible I’ve misread something; apologies if so.
The scalding water serves as a moderately acceptable substitute for the warmth of human contact I’m so terrible at cultivating.
I’d make a guess they’re getting violent because the legal system can’t do anything with their compromised evidence. Instead of realizing they’re not the people qualified to do this work, they’re just doubling down and “handling it themselves.”
The USB sticks that they frequently give away for free with other purchases have low performance? Color me shocked, I guess?
I never get invited to the fun parties. 🥺
Those tiled bathrooms have great acoustics for it.
I swear LinkedIn is just a massive circle jerk for HR goons.
How else would they continue developing their social features that no one fucking asked for?
He does talk some mad shit.
Mostly referring to the recent rumblings about their potential IPO. Once shareholders get their hands on something, it’s all downhill.
Matrix supports “bridges” for a number of third party services so you can keep in contact with friends who haven’t made the transition to federated services.
Other than Lemmy, I’ve got a self-hosted and federated Matrix instance. I don’t actually do much with Matrix at the moment, it’s mostly the result of me tinkering with self-hosted services. I did recently bridge it to Discord, and I’ve let my friends know it’s a potential alternative if Discord continues going down the shitter.
You’re encouraging violence! clutches pearls and swoons
ETA /s tag for the braindead
An important point to remember with these IM landers is they’re attempting to land on much rougher terrain than anything we’ve accomplished so far, and it’s attempting to do so autonomously by constantly snapping photos and analyzing them in real time to determine a safe landing spot. This was just their second attempt, I wouldn’t count them out yet.
I’m torn between wether the right response to that one is wanting Linux to support them, or refuse to play games that insist on requiring malware to play their game.
Trade it for something a little lies swastikar-y.
I tried using DuckDNS for a while for DDNS, but noticed it seemed to have frequent periods of a few minutes each when it just wouldn’t resolve. Also was unable to get a matrix/synapse setup working behind it. It’s handy as a free service and nice if you just need basic DDNS, but it’s not the most reliable for hosting stuff from my experience.
I eventually settled on buying my own domain. Was much cheaper and easier to figure out DNS management than I was expecting, and my hosted services run so smoothly now.
Edit RE: downvotes: fuck me for sharing my experience? Kinda thought that was the point of this community…
Are people just going to keep reposting this misleading shit headline of a post until no one reads the article and just goes along with it?
Are the people constantly reposting this even reading the article and realizing how illiterate they look?
“Girl math” doesn’t sound at all like misogynistic IT tech bro speech.
