This community is on .world, we’ll see
The last time I encountered a power trip mod, I created another community on the same topic, brought other people who were unsatisfied over, and the new community is much more active than the initial one.
It takes quite a while though.
Ah, sorry to hear, how come?
Hello,
Isn’t !lemmy@lemmy.ml already filling this role?
Just create a post about it
If you mean about getting it featured on LW, you should ask that to Lemmy.world admins
This comment might answer your concern, but I’m not a scientist so I’ll let you have a look: https://lemmy.world/comment/10548651
Thanks!
FYI, an update on the !fedigrow@lemm.ee post on the !privacy community: https://lemm.ee/post/34088759?scrollToComments=true
Long story short, !privacy@lemmy.ca is a nice option, it even has more active users per week than the LW equivalent (376 vs 346)

I wouldn’t mind seeing these regularly.
Feel free to join us on !fedigrow@lemm.ee
these daily announcements threads on an instance that’s already defederating apparently
Where has LW announced that they would be defederating?
If you want to build up alternatives, post and comment so they’re more active.
Which is what they are trying to achieve by promoting those communities in this post?
I’m just uncomfortable with the way that people are so eager to foster that in world. We shouldn’t have to see them misbehave before we apply what we learned from previous mistakes.
You’re preaching to the choir, but “for now” it’s acceptable to me.
We are always able to move communities to other instances should they misbehave, and that’s good enough to me.
Could be improved, of course, but not critical.
I feel the centralization of communities on WORLD is a far greater and thus more urgent issue for me.
Is it? Is there any level of power tripping similar to lemmy.ml?
Also
I suggest to have one topic per comment so that is is easier to discuss.
Time to switch to Explain Me Like I’m Six then
LW is already much more active than lemmy.ml (18k monthly active users vs 2.5k: https://fedidb.org/software/lemmy/), so the system is working, people have left for a less politically biased instance
Pretty hard to boot when they own the instance
If there’s a community that only exists there, be the change you want to see: create it somewhere else and give it time to grow. You’re not the only one making this complaint about .ml, and you probably wont’ be the last.
Maybe we should open a thread on !fedigrow@lemm.ee about this
I personally hide downvotes for this reason
