Baby: costs thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars over a minimum of 18 years
Monitor: shows memes and games, costs a few hundred dollars for a good one, one time purchase
Obviously the child is the stupid financial decision
I genuinely prefer the graphics of older games…
This is because a lot of older games were going for an artistic style, the graphical fidelity of today’s games was too far out of reach. BioShock is a perfect example because of its beautiful art direction.
AAA games used to have character to them, now every person has to have 1200 individually rendered pores and a remaster every few years to make it look more realistic (cough cough The Last of Us)
Same with curved TVs. I knew a guy who dropped $2500 on a 65" Samsung Curved TV thinking it was the coolest thing ever. He mounted it on his wall and quickly realized he made a mistake because of the horrible viewing angles. Unfortunately for him, he threw away the box at the store because it would t fit in his car, so he was stuck with it.
I’m using them lol I know I could sell all 3 for a good price, 2 are EVGA K|ngP|n cards and one is a FE that has a very good overclock potential. I’m not looking to upgrade now, they still work fine.
The GPU market is a goddamn disaster. Nvidia can’t even put the right amount of ROPs on a card or back up their “5070 is a 4090 hurr durr” claims, AMD ditching higher end GPUs, melting connectors, AI, AI, AI!!, etc. Even with Intel’s Arc GPUs it’s not enough to compete when Nvidia has all the market share in consumer cards.
I’ve got a 7800xt, a few 3090s in various gaming/video editing systems and a RX 6400 for a backup card. I’m not buying any more until this AI bubble bursts and cards start having actual amounts of uplift from generation to generation and when I can buy one without them getting botted to hell and back.
Exactly, I’ve got a backlog of games a mile long and an even longer backlog of movies and tv shows. I’ll finally have time to enjoy them all and won’t have to leave my house more than once a week for groceries and weed gummies. Only 24 years to go 🤞
Not exactly, I play Halo MCC online, Dead by Daylight, Splitgate, etc. Lots of multiplayer games work fine for me. I use EOS btw
It’s actually completely unplayable for Linux users because of the new anti cheat.
The absolute bliss
Same with me when I was in Brazil, it was chugging along just fine back in New England
I don’t recommend anyone buy a Jeep, not because of the ads but because they’re built like shit. Quality has been in free fall for decades while prices have skyrocketed. Death wobble issues (Wranglers), motor reliability out the window, rust, more rust, just not worth it.
I owned a 94 Cherokee and I loved it, and even though that 4.0L straight 6 had problems at least it would still run with bad piston rings, mysterious battery drain and holes in my radiator. The new ones just can’t compete.
Yeah my 3090 K|ngP|n pulls over 500w easily, but that’s over 3 8 pin PCIe cables, all dedicated. Power delivery was something I took seriously when getting that card installed, as well as cooling. Made sure my 1300w PSU had plenty of dedicated PCIe ports.

Brother I can’t remember why I walked into the other room, let alone something that happened 180,000 years ago 🙄
Same here, had Firefox installed since I got this phone in September and it’s still off (also just checked)
Interesting, I haven’t had any issues with things loading with mine, maybe it’s your adlists causing issues? Try disabling some, there might be false positives in there giving you issues
10400F running my NAS/Plex server and raspberry pi 5 running PiHole
I dumped Spooterfy over a year ago now, moved all my liked song library to Tidal. I moved to AntennaPod for podcasts too. I never really make playlists, Tidals mixes are usually pretty good. The daily discovery is leagues above Spotify’s weekly shit that would constantly play songs from artists I had blocked. No Spotify, I do not want to be ear raped by 100 Gecs I told you this!
They pay artists better and it’s been a much better experience. My only issue was I couldn’t easily like songs from the notification bar, but that was added a while ago in an update. It has started playing the same songs frequently lately, but thats not the worst I guess.
Obviously if you care about supporting your artists, buy thier CDs, vinyls (if you’re into that) or buy them digitally on Bandcamp, streaming doesn’t pay as much as direct support.
This reads as an ad but I’m genuinely just a satisfied user. Fuck Spotify.
As someone else here mentioned, Pandora is still a viable option too, hell my mom uses Pandora.
Surprisingly I’m in the US and it’s off by default, at least for now. They’ll toggle it on then claim it was an accident after they make a couple billion dollars.
And has reliability issues, I got one for my mom so she could use my Plex server, it died just outside of warranty. She didn’t use it often so it wasn’t used and abused, just stopped outputting video one day.
