This is really really not true. Anyone that has actually visited China or engages regularly with Chinese people knows it’s not really true. It’s the kind of shit people who don’t question anything see in a reddit comment and then accept as fact because it confirms racist biases you already have that you’ve not had questioned or self-examined within yourself.

You should question this. You should re-examine this view. You should self-crit. You’re talking about the largest marxist country in the world, where marx is taught in schools and universities, where a marxist-leninist party leads, and where the established ideology of internationalism continues to progress. It’s just so utterly out of touch with what China actually is.

You’ve all got to get used to the way federation works. Because everyone is federated with different instances the /all/ page is different for different instances. This means that when a thread reaches /all/ on a specific instance you will get a lot of their users showing up at the same time. This is true of all the large instances, lemm.ee and lemmy.ml pour into our threads all at once when they reach the top of their feeds, but it’s different for every site so you get this outcome where a lot happens all at once.

And you fail to ask yourself what happens to your “market forces” alternative to reddit. In any scenario where the market is responsible for replacing reddit the market will also bring it back to exactly the same point of self-destruction through pursuit of capital. You left reddit because of capitalism. What is an IPO? It is the launch of a business onto the public capital markets to release equity and to enrich its existing owners. What do all businesses on the markets operate on? Short term growth for the next financial quarter optimised to enrich their investors (shareholders) in the shortest amount of time possible.

Capitalism consistently destroys everything you enjoy and yet you defend it relentlessly while asking for long term thinking, which is not a feature of capitalism. When you wake up to this reality you might actually start to question “maybe the socialists are right about a few things” and spend some time with us learning what we actually believe.

That’s not a socialist state. It’s a capitalist state with welfare. If the political structure of the state itself has not been reworked to put the workers in power what you’re describing is just a state where the bourgeoisie (who control power) have decided to do welfare, usually for their own benefit such as reducing revolutionary energy by providing the workers with concessions (the welfare state). That is social democracy.

You do not have socialism without overthrowing the hierarchy that places the bourgeoisie as the ruling class:

Capitalism = Capitalists in power. Proles repressed.

Socialism = Proletariat in power. Capitalists repressed.

Communism = No more classes, only 1 class because the bourgeoisie have been completely phased out.

Capitalism is the state controlled by the capital owners with the workers repressed.

Socialism is the state controlled by the workers with the capital owners repressed.

They are literally hard opposites. One is a bourgeoise-state and the other is a proletarian-state.

You literally left Reddit because of what capitalism did to it.

Ceasefire agreement and a return to negotiations would be a start. They had already agreed to a deal when Boris Johnson showed up over a year ago though, and then Ukraine went back on it after his unscheduled visit. My assumption is that this agreement would have preserved Donetsk and Luhansk as either independent countries or as autonomously governed regions of Ukraine, that’s changed now with the law making them part of Russia and I’m not entirely sure whether that’s something Putin even has the power to change without a vote by those respective regions or the State Duma (unsure what mechanism might exist).

Either way there is no military capability to take them back by force as demonstrated by the complete failure of the counteroffensive, Ukraine will either lose them by force with a massive pile of bodies lost on both sides, or not. This is the reality of the situation. I care about avoiding the pile of bodies one way or another.

What the fuck do you not understand? I do not care. It does not matter to me who starts a war when both sides are bourgeoisie. And it does not fucking matter to me who wins them. I will not cheerlead either side of a bourgeoise war. I am not a psychotic nationalist. I am an internationalist.
