Oh TIL, good to know! Thanks!
win8 made us realize
Bruh you were late. Vista sucked, 7 sucked, they were shit since XP. Sure, I kept using it until 10 because I was afraid linux still didn’t work, but XP was the last time I was happy with computers until I installed Fedora.
A stray with a collar? I suspect that is someone’s cat they let roam. I hope so, anyway.

Tbf, we’ve spent the last 8+ years making sure echo chambers become the name of the game and completely breaking down discourse from “across the aisle” so to speak to the degree where we mostly don’t interact with them, and they mostly don’t interact with us. We’ve set it up like this seemingly intentionally, if all they do is watch fox and truth social and neither of those places are talking about it (tbf I’m kinda with you on this, idk if they are talking about it because I’m not there either, so), how can we expect them to have heard about it?
Like sure we’re all aware of it here, where they aren’t, but have they heard of it where they are? And how do we fix it, go there ourselves and tell them? Might be too late, tbh.

In fact, I can think of a few reasons the US gov shouldn’t even be trusted to fund this. Namely the CIA/NSA possibly saying “bitch we fund you, don’t report these things we exploit or no more money.” Did it happen? Don’t know. Does “US gov funded” immediately make me suspicious of it happening? Yes.
Well not me, and again I’m not exactly a porn star over here, I’m literally just above average for my demographics, statistically. Maybe a micro?
I mean, as someone who was once 9 (and I’m not lacking but I’m not that gifted either), still idk about this. They used skateboard bearings, like bones reds but cheaper (if you wanna make that shit fly, throw some swiss ceramics in there). I never fidget spun because I’m old but I skated so I recognized them instantly. Maybe if the bearing was popped out, but no way anyone fits in a fidget spinner with the bearing in.
That axle hole is 8mm, the external diameter is still only 22mm, but maybe, if the wiener in question can squish down to roughly 23mm. Still hard to believe. Reds pictured for reference.
Also less likely to crack under the pressure of a reciprocating slide, since they usually crack along layer lines.
45° is a commonly used angle for printing guns stuff actually.
I expect it won’t be straightforward to view the data as well, it’s not just gonna be a folder full of jpegs.
Source?
Tbf, I (and I’m a random third guy not the guy to which you’re replying, for clarity’s sake), also doubt it’ll be a folder of jpegs…but I think it’ll be fairly trivial to exploit whatever it is, and it’ll take way too much storage (storage cheap now, whatever, I know I’m old but I don’t use cloud and I’ve got other shit to spend money on than HDDs or SSDs, which I do also need as a pirate/data hoarder and don’t want to waste space on).
I don’t understand what use case you can have by asking Microsoft what porn you were watching at 2 am of February 19th.
Well you see I have my browser set to delete history on exit because of security so this would override that and keep the history…that I…deleted… Wait…
Lmao idfk why people would possibly want this either.
My airpods and fingerprint reader (framework 16) work fine on Fedora, sometimes it just be like that.
It’s a unix system, I know this!
Frameworks have all AMD options too, just a heads up. I have one and it runs great!
Running a framework 16 with FedoraKDE and before that a 4gb ram 2015 toshiba satellite (in 2024) running Fedora (regular Gnome) and haven’t had one of these issues. Most issues I have had were caused by me, every now and again I run into a regular old bug in something and half the time that gets fixed pretty quick.
I wish I could help, but we just have opposite experiences unfortunately. That said, because of this I don’t think it’s “linux,” or I’d likely have at least similar experiences.
OH for a while I did have a bug where VLC would stutter playing video and nobody had a fix, so I uninstalled/reinstalled VLC and it works now. Idk, I’ve had shit like that happen on windows too though, it’s basically the software version of power cycling hardware when it acts up.
Thank you! But naw I just love kitties and she needs it! She’s such a sweet kitty.
Thank you from all three of us! You too!
Tbf, it’s a common conspiracy theory that all of them (or at least a significant portion) are on SSRIs. I think it comes from a mix of
A. Some of them were iirc, but I’m not sure who. It’s also possible it just was used as an excuse by a parent, or kid who didn’t die in their shooting.
B. Simply just the fast part of the commercials that says “if you are experiencing suicidal or homicidal ideation while taking lexapro, talk to your doctor immediately…” and then people being people, that gets extrapolated into “the shooters are on SSRIs and this is why it happens.” People are searching for answers as to the underlying causes, on both sides of the “gun bad” and “gun good” debate, the same way some focus on “if we got rid of guns” those that know “well my gun doesn’t make me want to shoot up schools so it isn’t the guns” but have never taken SSRIs might be more apt to blame the thing they’re less familiar with, for instance.
C. Afaik, it hasn’t actually been studied very well and actually could play a role in at least some of the incidents, but we don’t “know.” First of all, I think HIPAA presents some challenges in studying this, as I think even prisoners have the right to medical privacy. And on top of that I wouldn’t be surprised to learn Big Pharma’s lobbyists are hard at work making sure this is not well studied to the best of their ability, it’s kinda just their MO to the degree I’d be surprised if they weren’t doing that. Our pharma lobby is just as bad as tobacco about that, if not worse.
Personally, I’d actually like to see this possible link or lack thereof studied in depth myself, if for no other reason than to quell the conspiracy theory, or if a link is found then maybe we can do something about that, I think only good can come from at least just studying it.
The few studies that I have seen actually suggest there may actually be a link, but I don’t know exactly how rigorous those were or if it’s enough to indicate causation rather than simply correlation, and it’s not specific to active shooters but simply “violent crime” (of which shootings are obviously one, but it could be “increased risk of simple assault, but not murder” without narrowing it down, who knows.

Seems to suggest to me that at the ages these (typically male) shooters usually are, there actually may be a significant enough percentage to suggest a possible causation? I’d still like to see it studied further though, especially if it can be a study specifically regarding active shooter incidents, and also I’d like to know if “was taking them and stopped” plays a role over “is taking them currently” or vice versa. I think it’s at least worth a look, especially considering this study itself concludes:
