I mean I’m down but idk how to do shit until I find a guide for it 😅
So like I’m super nervous but I’m into it.
@Darorad@lemmy.world might be into this also. Idk how mentions work but now you both got one, and I feel fancy.

You and @haui_lemmy@lemmy.giftedmc.com would probably be good to chat about that :)
I don’t know shit about shit. I’d love to pretend I do but I don’t and getting competent people together is probably a win
I don’t know how to do anything techy, unfortunately, so I didn’t understand most of what you wrote… most I know how to do is basic tech support troubleshooting type stuff 😅
I’m moving away from anyone that would be my neighbors now, and while I also plan to support the small local community I end up in, my friends are already a bit scattered around a 4-hour radius from my projected landing spot, and they all have people they love and trust, and I still want to support the dispersed community I care about now, as well as being part of an underground pipeline for people to safer spaces.
Being online isn’t ideal, but it may prove to be necessary to maintain inventory and needs for such an extended network. Idk shit about logistics.
I have a few interface points already established who will be delivery/distribution points for wider networks, but if others want to contribute their goods it will get prohibitively difficult for one person to manage
None of those things apply to me so I’m still hopeful. :)
I just hope my 40s suck less. I’m almost stable and my country is probably going to collapse. And then the ecosystem around us will follow suit, yaaaay…
I have some people to jointly buy land with, and a zero waste, zero emission farm plan in place to weather the storm. Maybe. If we can all get our shit together super soon… it won’t be much but it’ll be ours and we’ll defend it fiercely. It’s the American way.
We’ll definitely be a local stop on the railroad, though, and I already know others who will do the same.
Today, I’m playing the original devil may cry (ps2 via emulation, so smoothed and upscaled). I’m all in on retro/classics this month, as it reminds me of my mid-late teen years, and these enhanced games look pretty good actually.
It’s kinda short, and pretty good overall, but I really can’t recommend it. The controls are absolutely awful; static camera with frequent angle shifts, and character controls that require changing movement direction with every camera angle change, even while fighting, is just… very very bad coming from playing more modern stuff.
If it had a dynamic camera, even a poorly placed or inverted one, the game would be quite good. Instead it’s super frustrating.

Right next to a lace boutique, no less. ;)
Is that why potassium is K on the periodic table?
And now that I think about it, sodium is Na…
Damnit, our educational system has been telling us we are wrong the whole time! Sneaky bullshit!
He had advanced kidney disease when I started spoiling him, which inhibits eating. The healthiest food I could give him at that point was literally anything he’d eat, and there was just something about frozen white meat chicken nuggets from Costco that he just really liked.
He was on a very low phosphorus diet for years, and it was a constant struggle to get him to eat, even though I found a ton of things that were ok for him outside of the Rx diet food (which he refused to eat for every meal). My vet ended up asking me what I was feeding, because he wasn’t supposed to make it more than a year based on his kidney function labs, and he made it another 8, and was pretty healthy for most of it getting all the way up to a chubby 9 lbs at one point (small cat). He passed last July, and even my vet was sad to see him go (he was a charming lover boy who adored strangers of all species). It turns out, Rx kidney food for cats isn’t actually optimal because cats are obligate carnivores and need protein, but low protein is recommended for omnivores with kidney disease and that was just assumed to be true for cats as well, and the Rx foods are low phos and low protein, so cats waste away over time.
I don’t eat nuggets (or a lot of meat) normally, myself, and I usually don’t give my cats people food either, but I appreciate the suggestion all the same if I come across that need again :)
The only stickers I buy are for my kegerator and my 2-gallon ukeg growler from the breweries I visit in my travels… so those go on pretty much right away, unless I forget them.
Sure, if they aren’t just round I have to think about where to put them, to fill as many gaps as possible, but that’s about it.
What sort of places is everyone else throwing stickers?
I used to do this for my cat. He had advanced kidney disease so whatever I could get him to eat was good. He really really liked chicken nuggets specifically, but was mildly allergic to the breading (would give him breakouts leading to scabby sores) so I’d remove it and give him the inside bits. I’d make nuggets for him at least once a week.
I in the last 4-ish months played through yonder, biomutant, ni no kuni 1+2, ff7 remake (#1), balan wonderland, several Lego games, star ocean integrity and faithlessness, tandem, all the cat quest games, several “tales of” games, and a buttload more while I still had the ps+ subscription (which expired in like… August? I won’t count those cuz I had no life at the time. Still don’t but It was worse then.)
My big push at the moment is going through some of the ps3 era titles I’ve never played. I have so many games I buy and just sit on for years… I probably shouldn’t do that, but I buy used so it’s cheaper… But those unplayed games are mostly super long story focused games, so they take a hot minute to get through. I have a few upcoming tales of games, which I now own most of, star ocean, valkeria chronicles, and all the final fantasy games I never slogged through the overwhelming tutorial on and thus haven’t played.
Any games I finish, I enjoy enough to finish. I gave up pushing through bad media long ago because there’s so much more out there. I’ve been really into big story games with minimal or easy combat, but I also really like the short and simple games that you can get through entirely in 10 hours.
Tandem was a really cute one that stuck out. I got it purely because it was inexpensive. It’s a fairly short puzzle game where one character walks through a top-down view and the other is a side scroll view. You have to swap back and forth to use them both to solve puzzles. It’s not super difficult, but it is satisfying in difficulty.
Personally, I’d go for the person. Roach phobia entirely not factoring in here.
My attic is over a detached garage. If someone can access that space somehow, and wants to live there, whatever. It’s roomy enough to be fairly comfortable, tho you can’t stand up straight, and it’s insulated with electric outlets, so I’m not suuuuper likely to find a frozen person in spring. Not great, but as long as they don’t leave a mess or whatever, meh, doesn’t harm me any beyond electrical use. I probably wouldn’t even find out about it for a long time, since I never go up there; the ladder is duct-taped where it cracked at some point, and I can’t be bothered to replace it.
Roaches, however, would not stay contained to the garage. That’s a deal-breaker.
I’ve been using it for almost a year now.
It… works well enough. I really have no complaints, tho it does have some cookies, which I could do without (I don’t care to track how many trees I’ve contributed to planting, and I’d like a no tracking option) but that’s a pretty small complaint when I clear cookies frequently anyway. If you use ghostery or some other extension that auto-rejects cookies and randomizes data for those it can’t reject, you’ll be fine.
The sponsored listings are clearly labeled, the results typically come up fine. There do seem to be more sponsored results than there used to be, though, so… something to be aware of.
It’s not perfect but it’s a lot better than google, and they use the money for trees (I did look into that claim and it’s true as far as I can tell)
Honestly I have to disagree with consoles being ease of use these days, especially if you like really long sessions.
I have to restart games or reboot the console way more often than I feel should be necessary at this point.
And installing from discs takes forever if you even do physical, but then you need the disc in to run it for whatever dumbfuck anti-piracy reason. I won’t pay for digital, at that point you might as well be on pc, it’s the same thing, and since this generation is probably the last with physical media, I’m out…
This guy reminds me of the framed poster in my bedroom that I bought on eBay for $10 when I was like 15.
It’s funny to me, but one of my highest ratios was on a torrent that never even finished. It was active for many months stuck at 98%, and the seed never came back. So many people started that one, downloaded what was available, then scrapped the whole thing and found another option…
I’d uploaded ~500gb of a 6gb torrent.
That’s the joy/pain of wanting stuff nobody has available…
Super sorry for the delay - life stuff got hectic
I think whatever you are planning would be perfectly fine for my needs, since I don’t need much. I was more just looking to see if it already existed but if it leads to a cool collab, that’s pretty awesome too and I’d love to use whatever comes out of it :)
