I wonder if those people spending so much on an on-line game will feel they have got their money’s worth when one day the company shuts down and their digital purchases disappear forever.
Tbh, a lot of people don’t really care if they get their money’s worth. Look at the Call of Duty franchise. A new release every year that most of the playerbase moves to, effectively makes much of the purchased goods on the older game obsolete.

The question is when that will be. If it has even half the lifespan of WOW I’d say we are fine
That’s how the majority of our gaming currently is TBH. For better or worse.
