I love Sia’s, to my ear, it almost sounds evocative of that Native American thing where they rapidly oscillate their hand in front of their mouth while vocalilizing, often accelerating. Its intoxicating
Anyone second the Native American doing that hand yodelly sound thing?
Your use of non-gendered pronouns in this context is incredibly confusing.
Nope, that’s their preferred pronouns. No confusion at all, once you get used the the idea of the singular they/them. It does take getting used to if you weren’t in the habit of talking about unknown persons or aren’t familiar with modern usage for trans, non binary, and related language.
I specified their legal name, which afaik is still what they use in general as an individual apart from their life as an artist. So you know I’m referring to a single individual by that, even if we weren’t on a post about singers with good vibrato, which could include groups of vocalists, but would require specification of it being a group.
LP has a stage moniker that is confusing because LP can refer to multiple things within the music industry. So there is always the extra step of giving their actual name when recommending them. But I have never, once, had anyone confused by using their preferred pronouns before this. I’ve had people pretend to be confused and then get angry that I just informed them of the above, instead of arguing with them about respecting pronouns, but nobody that didn’t understand that I was referring to the singer that was the topic of discussion.
