I feel like the cameraman is either a sitting duck or bait.
This was probably staged in safety as propaganda, but women Soviet snipers were definitely a threat to Nazis.
when you use your camera long enough, you don’t need to use the viewfinder to know what is framed. They probably just held the camera above and took the photo… if this isn’t staged for propaganda. Probably nobody is shooting at them.

If it wasn’t staged, I’m assuming the wall at the left goes up out of frame, protecting them.
They knew how to deal with Nazis. 👍
